GCTC CEO Steve Lines said the news of Chris’ disappearance at Surfers Paradise on Wednesday night has deeply affected the entire racing community.

“First and foremost, our heart goes out to Chris’ family and the entire racing community as the search continues,” said Lines.

The Gold Coast Turf Club is working with Racing Queensland to implement welfare support mechanisms for Chris’ family, friends and industry participants during this tough time.

“Welfare provider Benestar will be in attendance at the club to offer support for jockeys and industry participants.”

As part of RQ’s Mental Health Support Program, industry participants can access confidential counselling and support services on a 24/7 basis via Benestar on 1300 360 364.
